PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION

The Connecticut Technology Education Leadership Council (CTELC) functions as an advisory group to the State Consultant for technology education. The CTELC provides regular contact between the state consultant and school district leaders of technology education throughout Connecticut. Scheduled meetings provide opportunities for the technology education leadership to:

  • share ideas

  • communicate with each other on the status of district level technology education programs

  • develop cooperative solutions to mutual problems

  • develop new and innovative curriculum directions

  • broaden the instructional perspective of the technology education leadership

  • further the cause of technology education.

MEMBERSHIP IN THE ORGANIZATION

Membership in the CTELC is open to professionals dedicated to technology education who serve in a leadership position in Connecticut. An eligible participant becomes a member by paying an annual mailing fee of seven dollars and by paying for meal costs at meetings attended.

 

MEETINGS

Meetings are held on alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays of every other month during the school year beginning in September. They begin at 4:00 p.m. and conclude promptly at 9:00 p.m. Meetings typically consist of:

  • announcements and information from the state consultant

  • announcements and information from related organizations (CTEA, NEATT, CT-TSA, etc.)

  • a conference agenda that may include a speaker, workshop, or site  tour dinner

  • opportunities for discussion from the membership

OPERATION OF THE ORGANIZATION

Treasurer/Secretary: The Treasurer/Secretary is key to the operation of the CTELC and provides several important services that include: 

  • maintaining the mailing list for the organization

  • conducting mailings to the membership

  • collecting payments for meals and mailings from membership

  • paying vendors for services rendered in the organizations behalf

State Consultant: The state consultant for technology education leads the CTELC. Additionally the state consultant also:

  • assists in the establishment of yearly objectives for the advancement of technology education

  • facilitates the assignment of a secretary/treasurer

  • facilitates the establishment of a yearly program schedule
