SECTION I.  The general purposes of The Association (CTEA) are:

a.       To research, define, stimulate, coordinate and strive for the ideal form of Technology Education for all students on all levels, elementary, secondary and adult, for the inherent welfare of the students, the local communities, the geographic regions and the State.

b.       To promote, i.e., identify and enhance, the improvement of the quality and content of instruction in Technology Education via assistance to educators, students and all others concerned in assuring instructional contents, methods, and facilities to be current with the literal growth explosions of the technological-industrial complex.

c.       To assist and promote in the development of local involvement and support, formal or informal, representative of geographic Connecticut.

d.       To promote, encourage and be actively affiliated with the New England Association of technology Teachers (NEATT), the International Technology Education Association (ITEA), and The American Vocational Association (AVA).

e.       To encourage and support the valid constitutional goals of the Connecticut Technology Student Association (CT-TSA).

 

SECTION 2.  The specific purpose of this organization are:

a.       To provide the membership with news about the state’s Technology Education scene; schools, staff, activities, curriculum, job positions, innovations, etc. via two or more issues of the Newsletter.

b.       To provide two conferences, Fall and Spring, per school year with the Annual Connecticut Technology Education Fair inherent with the latter.  (BL-11 Sec. 10,d).

c.       To provide professional – in-service improvement workshop/seminars for all certified current membership.

d.       To provide certified current members with first-hand evaluations of selectively chosen    commercial exhibitors and their products.

e.       To provide the means of procuring current membership status for all Association sponsored    activities involvement.

f.         To provide for legislative liaison activities lobbying on behalf of The Association for the benefit of the State Technology Education programs, community, staff and students. 

g.       To provide the means for constantly supplying public relations information throughout the State, separately or in conjunction with the State Department of Education, of all items important to The Association members concerning conferences, workshops/seminars, etc., whether local, state, NEATT, ITEA, or AVA in origin.

h.       To provide safety-related, information via research and development, as it pertains to all phases of the worlds of work – living, and recreation.

i.         To provide information and direction in professional development, both educationally and industrially, pertaining to new technologies, jobs, skills, curriculum, and futuristic developments.

j.         To obtain and provide exceptional and worthwhile instructional-media materials to The Associations certified current membership primarily!  Secondarily, if the materials are available, administrators and allied disciplines may be honored, as per direction of the Board of Directors/Executive Board.
